MR D.I.Y., MR. DOLLAR, MR. TOY mark major milestone with 1,000 stores nationwide


KUALA LUMPUR, 8 AUGUST 2022 – Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer, MR D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad [MR D.I.Y. Group – MR D.I.Y., MR. DOLLAR and MR.TOY] now has 1,000 stores nationwide! The retailer is celebrating the milestone by offering Malaysians great deals on its wide range of products across its three brands at ‘Always Low Prices’.

Announcing the celebration, MR D.I.Y. Group Head of Marketing, Alex Goh said, “This is a red-letter day for MR D.I.Y. and one that we are immensely proud of.  We opened our first store in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in 2005, and we never imagined then that we would one day be present in 1,000 locations nationwide, delivering on our promise of “Always Low Prices” and with a breadth of brands – MR. D.I.Y., MR. DOLLAR and MR. TOY.  This milestone would not have been achieved without the dedication of our 13,000 employees  nationwide, the strong relationships with our business partners, and the loyal support of Malaysians; we owe our success to all of you.”

MR D.I.Y. Group’s journey to becoming a Malaysian retail icon began 17 years ago with the opening of a traditional hardware store in Kuala Lumpur’s famed shopping district. Over the years, the Group’s commitment to delivering value and quality made it a popular choice for discerning shoppers, leading to its steady expansion both in terms of its presence and range of products.

Fast forward to 2022, the retailer now carries more than 18,000 product items [SKUs] in its stores and online on its e-commerce platform.  It has also expanded its stable of brands, which today include MR. D.I.Y, MR. DOLLAR, and MR. TOY, all dedicated to making a difference to the lives of Malaysians by ensuring they have easy access to their everyday essentials.

Commenting on MR D.I.Y. In addition to reaching this 1000-store milestone, MR D.I.Y. TOY stores respectively from 1 until 31 August 2022.
