Penang is no stranger to any Malaysian and it is known for its foreign influences and historical grounds standing till this day – like the colonial Fort Cornwallis, Chinese Clan temple Khoo Kongsi, and Indian style Kapitan Keling Mosque. Apart from that, the island is food-heaven including a variety of cuisines from different local cultures and also modern cafes. Walk down the streets of the main city, Georgetown, you can explore heritage buildings with architectural designs that have been maintained till this day.

Get the best view of Penang on Penang Hill. With a quick ride on the funicular train at the foot of Penang Hill, visitors will experience the elevation and be transported to the peak of Penang Hill within minutes. Alternatively, put on your hiking boots and take the adventurous route up which will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. On the way up, you are greeted by a plethora of flora and fauna – a perfect photo moment.

Penang offers a range of activities to explore the multiple heritage sites around the island. Hop on a trishaw for the best experience to visit popular locations such as Khoo Kongsi Clan or the Kapitan Keling Mosque. Known for their street food, Penang is filled with plenty of hawker centres available around the island which serves generational perfected dishes from the famous Penang Char Kuey Teow to the most searched for Penang Pasembur (a Malaysian salad consisting of beancurd, potatoes, cucumber, turnip, bean sprouts, prawn fritters, served with a sweet and spicy nut sauce.)
