Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced the release of the latest addition to the G-SHOCK family of shock-resistant watches. The new GMA-P2125W, which features the octagonal bezel design of the 2100 line, commemorates International Women’s Day (March 8).
Based on the GMA-P2100, a compact timepiece sized to comfortably fit people with slimmer wrists, the new GMA-P2125W comes in purple, a color symbolizing justice and dignity, with tasteful color accents in white and gold.
Mimosa flowers appear on the display when the LED backlight is on, recalling the International Women’s Day tradition of appreciating women with gifts of these flowers. This special timepiece comes in beautiful packaging in the same purple hue as the watch.
As part of the brand’s efforts to reach out to more people, the G-SHOCK special website “WOMEN OF OUR TIME” is dedicated to highlighting exceptional women across diverse fields who are pursuing their dreams with confidence, and explores their relationship with time.
Video features on the site convey the driving force that motivates five women working in different genres: actor/dancer Bambi Naka; rapper MFS; members of the street dance team RUSHBALL, KYOKA and MaiKA; and artist/illustrator itabamoe, who created the visuals for this timepiece. The videos convey the resilient spirit and hard work these women have all demonstrated, overcoming setbacks on the way to their impressive accomplishments.
Casio supports the mission of the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICP), which works to build a world where all women are healthy and able to make their own life choices. Casio will donate 5% of total proceeds from sales of this model to the organization
