UNIQLO Malaysia and Singapore Donate towards Humanitarian Aid in Aftermath of Devastating Earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria

This Follows Parent Company Fast Retailing’s Donation Last Week of One Million Euros and 40,000 Relief Winter Clothing To Its Longstanding Global Partner UNHCR

February 20, 2023; Kuala Lumpur – UNIQLO Malaysia is donating 5,500 new HEATTECH items and winter essentials valued at RM 440,000 to those affected by the earthquake in Türkiye in response to appeals by the Turkish Embassy and disaster relief agencies in the respective countries. The donation will be made through the Malaysian Relief Agency, a non-profit organisation dedicated to provide relief support to ease the plight of the affected victims.

The donation follows UNIQLO parent company Fast Retailing’s announcement last week of a cash donation of one million euros and relief winter clothes, including 30,000 items of UNIQLO HEATTECH thermal items, to its longstanding global partner UNHCR.

Over the past week, UNIQLO Malaysia and Singapore worked closely with the Malaysian Relief Agency and Turkish Embassy in Singapore, to provide clothing items to assist earthquake victims and support recovery efforts. The contribution included new Extra Warm cotton shirts and leggings, winter essentials and 2,000 clothing contributed by UNIQLO customers in Malaysia from RE.UNIQLO program, will bring much-needed aid to the victims and Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) team.
