Singapore, 19 September 2022 – As the city gears up for Grand Prix season, Kampong Gelam is set to activate all of its key districts with GLAMboyant – a 10-days campaign ideated to elevate the experience surrounding Singapore’s iconic ethnic and subculture hub. Paced across 23 September to 2 October, visitors can look forward to an exciting schedule of activities, covering aspects of food, culture, music and sports at every turn to solidify Kampong Gelam’s standing as the choice lifestyle destination for all.
ABOUT GLAMBOYANT 2022
Titled GLAMboyant – a playful portmanteau of the words glamorous and flamboyant to hint its exuberance, the campaign is led by One Kampong Gelam as part of its ongoing initiative to drive traffic for the benefit of its community and businesses within the neighbourhood. Spanning across five key hotspots, each area – Aliwal Street Carpark, Baghdad Street, Haji Lane, Sultan Gate and Sultan Gate Park – will be activated with unique experiences to encapsulate the locale’s vibrance and punctuate its prominence as Singapore’s leading street culture centre, alongside elements of racing that all visitors can partake in.
The official launch on 23 September, 8PM hosted by Farah Lola will see a star-studded cast of entertainers like Arya Yunata, Deejay TheAidilOne and local band Raw Energy featuring Hady Mirza and Alia.
“Given our proximity to the race course and position as an iconic lifestyle hotspot, we of course found it fitting to celebrate the return of F1 with a full-fledged activation,” says Mr Zaki Maarof, Chairman of One Kampong Gelam. “With GLAMboyant, our intention is to enliven the Kampong Gelam experience with a disruptive mash of culture and extreme sports that is accessible to all visitors, for the benefit of businesses within our neighbourhood.”
