JELUTONG PENANG, 3 November 2023 – Malaysia’s favourite do-it-yourself store MR D.I.Y. had Penang-ites in awe today, as it brought its giant inflatable iron to the state.
At 16 metres tall, the one-of-a-kind installation was recently recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records as the largest inflatable iron in Malaysia and currently hovers over the waters by the Penang Bridge at Karpal Singh Drive where it will remain on display until 30 November 2023.

Ada’ to all Malaysians, providing them with entertainment. KL-ites had a great time with it at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. Now, we are inviting Penang-ites to join the fun. ‘The Iron’ will soon travel to other states, offering more Malaysians the chance to enjoy this attraction. The giant inflatable iron is in conjunction with MR D.I.Y’s initiative, dubbed “Big & Small, MR D.I.Y Has It All” / “Kecil & Besar, MR D.I.Y. Ada”. This specially curated initiative showcases over 20,000 products that MR D.I.Y. offers at its more than 1,200 stores nationwide.
The retailer has also placed giant installations in high traffic areas in Penang and Melaka. Penang-ites can visit the giant dinosaur plush toy at All Seasons Place. Meanwhile in Melaka, there is a giant water tap at Menara Taming Sari and a battery charger and football at Mahkota Parade.
