McDonald’s Malaysia brings football stars and celebrities to Stadium Merdeka to benefit RMHC Malaysia

Free entry, 10,000 meal sets and charity football action await fans at Stadium Merdeka on 12 June

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 JUNE 2026 – As football fever sweeps across the nation, McDonald’s Malaysia is celebrating the spirit of the game and inviting Malaysians to channel their cheers towards a more meaningful cause through Mekdi All Stars Kick Off: RMHC Malaysia Charity Match, a special match that brings together national football legends, popular celebrities and thousands of fans in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia).

Announced at a press conference held today at McDonald’s Pantai Sentral Park Drive-Thru, the charity match will take place on 12 June 2026, from 5.00pm to 10.00pm at Stadium Merdeka, with free entry for all visitors. Bringing back the iconic atmosphere of a stadium steeped in Malaysia’s football history, the match will see two special teams, Malaysia All Stars and Mekdi All Stars, come together for a night of entertainment, nostalgia and community spirit.

At the same time, attendees are encouraged to make voluntary donations to RMHC Malaysia at designated donation touchpoints around the stadium. Public donations collected will be channelled to RMHC Malaysia, which supports children and families through health, education and welfare programmes, including Ronald McDonald House, Gift of Smile, Back-to-School Pack Programme and Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room.

Through Mekdi All Stars Kick Off: RMHC Charity Match, we want to harness that spirit for a greater purpose, not only to watch a match, but to come together and do something meaningful for children and families in need,” he added.

To enhance the fan experience, McDonald’s Malaysia will also provide 10,000 free meal sets comprising Chicken McNuggets, Coke and Apple Pie for visitors, while McDonald’s SuperFans will have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive access to the stadium’s VIP area.

As a symbolic reflection of the event’s charitable mission, players will be accompanied onto the pitch by children who receive support through Ronald McDonald House, serving as a reminder that behind every cheer and every goal, there are lives that can be touched and supported through public contributions.

Beyond the action on the pitch, visitors can also enjoy a variety of activities around the stadium, including an interactive RMHC space, McD App counter, games zone, fan activities and a range of food and beverage options from participating vendors.

Malaysia All Stars will feature some of the country’s biggest football names, including Amri Yahya, Faisal Halim, Safawi Rashid, Norshahrul Idlan Talha, Tan Cheng Hoe and others. Their presence is expected to bring back memories of Malaysia’s football glory while giving fans the chance to see their favourite icons in action once again at Stadium Merdeka.

“Playing at Stadium Merdeka always carries a special meaning, especially when it is for a charitable cause. Malaysia All Stars may be made up of players with experience, but on that night, what matters most is not only the match result. We want to entertain the fans, bring back the spirit of Malaysian football, and at the same time encourage Malaysians to come together in support of RMHC Malaysia,” said Amri Yahya from Malaysia All Stars.

Challenging them will be Mekdi All Stars, comprising popular celebrities and influencers such as Merqeen, Alvin Chong, MK K-Clique, Tuju K-Clique and others. Combining entertainment and sport, the team is expected to bring its own energy and excitement to the charity match.

“When it comes to experience, Malaysia All Stars certainly have the advantage. But do not underestimate Mekdi All Stars. Our team has energy, creativity and the spirit to give it a go. We will try to put up an entertaining challenge, and most importantly, we want fans to come in large numbers to support RMHC Malaysia,” said MK K-Clique from Mekdi All Stars.
