Sepang Selangor, 22 November 2023 – Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, also known as
Eraman, proudly announces the grand opening of two (2) flagship Eraman Duty Free
Emporium stores at KL International Airport Terminal 1. In addition to this exciting launch,
Eraman celebrated its 30th anniversary recently on 11 Nov 2023, marking three decades of
excellence in travel retail.
The event was attended by Malaysia Airports Acting Group Chief Executive Officer,
Mohamed Rastam Shahrom and Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, General Manager, Md
Fadzwin Abdul Rahim.
Eraman plays a crucial role as a revenue contributor to Malaysia Airports in non-aeronautical segments. In 2022, Eraman made a substantial contribution, accounting for a double-digit share of the Group’s revenue, which played a pivotal role in the company’s success and the Group’s initiatives.
“The reopening of Duty Free Emporium 1 and 2 is a remarkable achievement, reflecting the
dedication and commitment of Eraman’s in striving for excellence and innovation which is
vital for the Group’s sustainability,” said Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim, Malaysia Airports
(Niaga) Sdn Bhd, General Manager.
“These Duty Free Emporium stores represent a significant step forward in creating
next-generation shopping experiences in the global duty-free and travel retail market. It offers immersive shopping opportunities, strengthening the airport’s brand image and connecting with consumers. Eraman consistently enhances our airports’ and the country’s image by fostering joyful connections,” added Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim.
Offering 1074 square meter retail space, Eraman introduced innovative interactive screens for detailed product information and exclusive promotions. Eraman took the lead by introducing self-checkout counters, a first in the travel retail industry in Malaysia. Eraman also invited all its customers to join the celebration by participating in a host of exciting promotions.
The event was graced by a majestic lion dance performance symbolizing the grand opening
of the Duty Free Emporium stores. It was followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Acting Group CEO and Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd General Manager. Finally, guests and media were invited to scan and play with the Augmented Reality (AR) device. This was followed by a tour to the Eraman Duty Free Emporium stores.
