KUALA LUMPUR, 5 April 2024 – Yayasan MR D.I.Y. is all about ‘Raya Sama-Sama’ this festive season.
In support of Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer, [MR D.I.Y.]’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri ‘Raya Sama-Sama’ initiative, the Foundation, recently organised a ‘Raya Sama-Sama Membantu’ corporate social responsibility [CSR] programme at an orphanage home, ‘Rumah Titian Kaseh’ in Kuala Lumpur, and celebrated the festivity with the children.
The program became even more exciting as it was joined by the popular Malaysian singer, actor, and TV host, Alif Satar, and his band ‘The Locos’. It was a wonderful evening as the Foundation’s volunteers, the MR D.I.Y. Cares team, Alif Satar, and The Locos hosted games and singing sessions of renditions of Nasyid and Hari Raya songs, as well as helped ‘Rumah Titian Kaseh’ put up Hari Raya decorations. Additionally, they hosted a ‘Buka Puasa’ session. As a token of appreciation, the home also received RM2,000 in MR D.I.Y. cash vouchers and ‘Raya Sama-Sama Membantu’ care boxes filled with Hari Raya Aidilfitri decor and daily essentials.
Commenting on the initiative, Yayasan MR D.I.Y Chief Executive Officer [CEO], Zaleha Mohd Mydin said “Hari Raya Aidilfitri is all about forgiveness and tightening bonds with one another. We understand that not many have the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with their loved ones. Our mission for this Hari Raya Aidilfitri, is to enhance the spirit of togetherness, helping them and inviting everyone to celebrate ‘Raya Sama-Sama’. We are blessed to have Alif Satar and The Locos join the programme. Their presence certainly makes the children’s day more memorable. Thank you, Alif and The Locos.”
On separate events, the MR D.I.Y. Cares volunteers worked with orphanage homes and home care facilities, delivering ‘Raya Sama-Sama’ care boxes to 14 other charitable homes nationwide. ‘We thank these 14 homes for allowing us to bring festive joy to them. Kudos to all the MR D.I.Y. Cares volunteers for your endless support and efforts. As a team, we have the power to effect real change,’ said Zaleha.
