KUALA LUMPUR, 29 July 2025 – The Volvo Padel Open 2025 came to an electrifying close on Sunday after six thrilling weekends, cementing its place as Malaysia’s largest and most exciting padel tournament.
Back for its highly anticipated second edition, the tournament drew a record-breaking turnout with over 400 players across three categories – Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced – and 160 first-timers stepping onto the court for their first taste of competitive padel.
This year’s event, held in collaboration with three of Klang Valley’s premier padel clubs – Joy Division Padel, Padelground, and PadelKu – and supported by partners Coca-Cola Malaysia, Tactical Padel, Directors’ ThinkTank, and REGEN Physio & Sports Rehab, offered players the chance to compete for prizes worth over RM180,000.
Beyond cash rewards, champions also walked away with complimentary court hours, a seven-day experience in a fully electric Volvo and Tactical racquets or merchandise – adding a unique lifestyle touch to their victory.
Raising the Bar for the Malaysian Padel Community
To keep matches balanced and competitive, all Beginner and Intermediate players underwent mandatory assessments by professional coaches to ensure fair play. Players were also offered complimentary coaching clinics, to further equip newcomers with confidence and refine their technical abilities, setting the stage for exciting on-court action during their qualifying matches on 19 July (Beginners) and 26 July (Intermediate and Advanced).
A Grand Final to Remember
The Grand Finals on 27 July saw the courts buzzing with excitement as players, families, and spectators gathered to witness nail-biting rallies and spirited competition. Emotions ran high as many stayed until the very last match, cheering on their favourites and celebrating every point.
More Than Just a Tournament
From nail-biting rallies and cheers on the sidelines, the Volvo Padel Open 2025 perfectly captured the energy and inclusivity of the sport. As the champions lifted their trophies, it was clear that this tournament had done more than crown winners – it inspired the growth of a sport and strengthened the bonds of a community.
