OYO partners with Paralympic Association of Malaysia to promote sports for specially abled

Kuala Lumpur, August 23, 2024: Global hospitality technology company OYO has announced its partnership with the Paralympic Association of Malaysia to promote sports among specially abled athletes across the country. OYO has kickstarted this partnership by playing a small role in sponsoring the athletes participating in the upcoming Summer Paralympics scheduled in Paris from August 28-September 8, 2024. Malaysia is sending a 30 athletes contingent who will be participating in eight sports in the event.

As part of this partnership, OYO will also provide accommodation and logistical support for athletes participating in training camps and competitions across Malaysia. This initiative will ensure that especially abled athletes have access to the necessary resources to excel in their respective sports.

In addition to this, OYO will also support various initiatives aimed at enhancing access to sports facilities, training programs, and competitive opportunities for these athletes in Malaysia. The collaboration will focus on increasing participation in sports at both grassroots and elite levels, helping to nurture the next generation of Paralympic athletes in Malaysia.

OYO and the Paralympic Association of Malaysia will also work together to raise awareness about the importance of inclusivity in sports. Through community events and campaigns, the partnership aims to inspire more individuals to participate in sports, regardless of their physical abilities.

The initiative is a part of OYO’s ongoing program to become a global leader in sports hospitality business through strategic partnerships, customised hospitality solutions, and leveraging its global network of hotels.

OYO has already stitched similar partnerships successfully with organizations such as Divyang Cricket Control Board of India which handles the affairs of Indian Cricket Team for the physically challenged, Indian wheelchair cricket team, Indian women cricket team for the physically challenged.
