Dumex Dugro and MYDIN Join Forces on Nationwide Initiative to Tackle Iron Deficiency Anaemia in Children

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 February 2026 – In the spirit of Ramadan, Dumex Dugro, a proud brand of Danone Malaysia, is partnering with MYDIN in a bid to eradicate iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) and support underserved communities nationwide through a purpose-led Buy & Donate initiative and on-ground community activations.

Rooted in the shared values of compassion and togetherness, this collaboration will see an in-kind contribution of RM1.00 for every participating Dugro pack purchased between March and April 2026. Danone aims to donate some 3,000 packs of Dumex Dugro to orphans and low-income families. This aid will be distributed through MYDIN Prihatin.

Managing Director of MYDIN Mohamed Holdings Berhad, Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali MYDIN said, “Ramadan reminds us that business must go beyond profit. Through MYDIN Prihatin, we encourage our partners and customers to transform everyday purchases into meaningful contributions that uplift our communities. Our collaboration with Danone through Dumex Dugro demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting families in need and ensuring that children have access to proper nutrition, especially during this blessed month. Together, we hope to turn simple acts of giving into lasting positive impact.”

IDA remains a key nutrition concern among Malaysian children, often going undetected without early screening. Through its “Generasi Kuat Zat Besi” movement, Dumex Dugro continues to advocate for proactive non-invasive screening and provides accessible guidance for families through various educational campaigns.

Koh Kok Meng, Country Manager of Danone Malaysia & Singapore, said, “At Danone, we believe every child deserves the right nutritional foundation to thrive. This Ramadan, through Dumex Dugro, we are extending our commitment beyond awareness into measurable community impact. By partnering with MYDIN, we are combining access, outreach, and purpose to support families while continuing to drive education on IDA and early screening.”

The partnership will be amplified through in-store, digital, and on-ground engagements across MYDIN’s nationwide network of 65 stores, ensuring broad accessibility for suburban and residential communities.

Expanding on the spirit of giving, the partnership which will run from 1st March 2026 to 30th April 2026 will see Malaysian families treated to a gift with purchase initiative, where Malaysian families who spend RM50 will receive one Luminarc Jar, supporting their children’s nutritional needs throughout the Ramadan and Raya season.

Further, Dumex Dugro will engage families through a special Ramadan Bazaar booth at Stadium Shah Alam from 1–15 March 2026. The booth will feature interactive educational activities, including an Iron-Questionnaire, complimentary milk sampling, gift with purchase and on-ground Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) risk assessment screening for children, reinforcing the importance of early nutritional awareness.
