September 2023, Kuala Lumpur – Cerruti 1881 embraces the bold and distinct with the arrival of the Positano. Unmatched in its masculine vibes, the Positano watch hearkens to the sights, smells and sounds of the namesake village located right at the stunning Italian Amalfi Coast. In its own unique way, it calls to the idea of traveling to distant lands and taking life by the horns without too much of a care!
For now, the Positano collection comes a series of two models. Almost similar, they feature colour schemes to gives these watches a different feel when worn.
The rugged stainless-steel cases of these watches measure 47.5mm in diameter and they are definitely not for the faint-hearted. These durable cases have been given a tough ion-plating to achieve their respective colours and these finishes will see through the lifespan of the watch.
The watches share similar specifications as they are powered by the same accurate Japanese quartz movement, that provides the hour, minutes and seconds indications as well as the chronograph function. At the positions 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, there are chronograph registers to display the passage of time in different scales. Also present is a useful date window at 4 o’clock. On the side of the case are two prominent push buttons above and below the crown to easily access the chronograph function.
The baton hour markers on the dial work well hand-in-hand with the sword hour and minute hands to provide all the relevant information legibly. Additionally, the dial has a special stone-dial finish as an extra aesthetic element to enjoy when the owner looks at the time.
The Positano has a pillow shaped case that hugs the wrist comfortably thanks to its relatively short lugs. Visually arresting, it has a brushed finish to allow elements such as the crown guard and bezel to pop has been given a combination finishings including flat brushed angles and matte surfaces. They highlight the slim dodecagonal bezel from which the watch derives its unique look. Bringing it all together, the prominent pushers and angled crown make it easy to operate the functions of the timepiece. Moreover, the brushed bezel is noteworthy with its ten-minute markers and luminous dot at 12 o’clock.
Cerruti 1881 has created the stainless-steel case to withstand up to100 metres of water depth. This will allow the owner to swim with the watch with peace of mind. Last but not least, like icing on cake, the crown has a guard that is in the shape of the emblematic ‘C’ of Cerruti 1881.
