KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 2 November 2022 — Bigo Live, the global leading live streaming platform, recently kicked-off the Halloween season with its recently concluded ‘BIGO Halloween In-House Party’. Held on Thursday, 27 October at the LOOP KL pool skybar within the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, ‘BIGO Halloween In-House Party’ was organised to celebrate the achievements of Bigo Live’s Malaysian broadcasters as well as selected Bigo Live users. The aim of the event was to bring to life the ties fostered between broadcasters and their various agencies. The event was a resounding success and saw the attendance of over 150 participants, including Bigo Live users and broadcasters, BIGO staff, and performers, who showed up to the event in their best Halloween costumes.
Attending participants were treated to a fun-filled night of food, drinks and activities, which included a special appearance by Malaysian singer-songwriter Bil Musa and Noki K-Clique of the popular hiphop group K-Clique, who performed their latest single ‘Pantang’ live for the first time. Additionally, the event also featured all-night DJ performances from The Real D’Tee, DJ Vgene and CK CrossFinger and local Malaysian Bigo Live broadcasters. Several attendees also had the opportunity to perform on stage and showcase their talents to the wider crowd.
Other highlights of the evening included a Halloween costume contest where the top two best-dressed attendees won prizes such as a Samsung Soundbar Q60T and an Apple iPad. LOOP KL was also decorated to fit the event’s Halloween theme, with multiple interactive zones set up throughout the venue where participants had the opportunity to engage in several Halloween-themed activities and mini-games including gashapon machines. The interactive zones also saw the presence of scare actors who were dressed up as zombies who provided an immersive Halloween experience for event attendees.
Building on its mission to provide Malaysians with a diverse range of pan-entertainment offerings, ‘BIGO Halloween In-House Party’ marks Bigo Live’s first thematic event in Malaysia and is one of the many physical events the live streaming platform will be organizing to further engage its users as the country welcomes the return of post-pandemic physical interactions.
“We are happy to kick-start the Halloween festivities with our first-ever thematic event and would like to thank our ever-supportive Bigo Live users and broadcasters in making BIGO Halloween In-House Party an enjoyable night for all who attended. As Malaysia continues to open up to the rest of the world, we are heartened to see that the Malaysian spirit has not faltered and our users were able to build upon the virtual connections formed during the pandemic and interact with one another, including their favourite Bigo Live broadcasters. Building upon Bigo Live’s growth, we hope to continue organising similar events to establish ourselves as a platform that brings people together, and form meaningful interactions that transcend the virtual world,” Vivi He, Country Manager, Bigo Live Malaysia said.
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a sense of community and provide its users with an immersive experience that blends physical and virtual interactions, Bigo Live has hosted various initiatives which includes the recently concluded Bigo Gagaga (BIGO 嘎嘎尬) — an online game-cum-talkshow variety program featuring some of Malaysian’s most notable radio personalities; the Selara Ramadan BIGO fan meet event featuring popular Malaysian actor-singer, entrepreneur and producer, Shaheizy Sam; and a virtual concert featuring popular Malaysian girl group DOLLA, among many others.
