Kuala Lumpur, 10 March 2026 — In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, Petrosains hosted its first-ever Petrosains Sentuhan Ramadan Programme, welcoming 60 underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al Barakh and Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Penjagaan Nur Hidayah for a special day of learning, discovery and Ramadan celebration at Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, Suria KLCC.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative was designed to provide the children with a holistic and enriching experience that combined science learning, festive traditions and community togetherness. Through guided tours, interactive exhibits and engaging science shows, the children were introduced to science, technology and innovation in a fun, hands-on and immersive environment.
Beyond the science experience, the programme also embraced the spirit of Ramadan through festive activities that brought joy and warmth to the occasion. The children received cookies, baju raya and duit raya as part of the celebration, before gathering for a special iftar session to break fast together with Petrosains Leadership Team and invited guests from PETRONAS Education and Human Capital Investment (EHCI).
For many of the children, the visit marked their first experience at a science centre, offering a rare opportunity to explore science beyond the classroom in an inspiring and interactive setting. The experience sparked curiosity while building confidence and excitement around learning and discovery.
The initiative reflects Petrosains’ commitment to making science learning accessible to children from all backgrounds, particularly those with limited exposure to informal education experiences. By creating inclusive and purposeful programmes such as this, Petrosains continues to extend its educational mission beyond its walls, ensuring that no child is left behind in the journey of learning.
