foodpanda and EPF Bring From Ride to Retire to Sarawak, Supporting 400 Delivery Partners with On-the-Ground Financial Education

Kuching, 9 February 2026 — foodpanda Malaysia, as part of its panda hearts delivery partners welfare initiative, is collaborating with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to introduce From Ride to Retire in Sarawak. The programme extends structured retirement and financial education to 400 top-performing foodpanda delivery partners across multiple locations in the state.

Shubham Saran, Director of Operations at foodpanda Malaysia, said, “Our delivery partners are integral to our ecosystem, and caring for them means looking beyond the present. This programme reflects our commitment to ensuring that delivery partners across the country are equally supported, not just through earning opportunities, but by building financial confidence. From Ride to Retire is about making long-term financial preparedness achievable and relevant to their daily realities. We hope these 400 delivery partners will be our advocates and inspire their peers to also contribute voluntarily and enhance their retirement security.”

Building on foodpanda’s ongoing collaboration with the EPF Sarawak Region, From Ride to Retire brings expert savings and wealth management advice directly to delivery partners in Sarawak for the first time. Led by EPF regional officers, the advisory and briefing sessions will take place in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri from 9 to 13 February. The sessions will focus on practical topics like how gig workers can make voluntary EPF contributions, understanding the long-term benefits of retirement savings and developing sustainable saving habits. The state’s first dedicated programme of its kind, the launch was marked by a signing ceremony between the EPF Sarawak Region and foodpanda at the EPF Kuching HQ.

Aminuddin Abdul Aziz, EPF Sarawak Regional Director, said, “Gig workers are an important segment for EPF as we work to widen access to retirement savings. We encourage delivery riders to start saving for retirement in a structured way, which they can do seamlessly through i-Saraan. The From Ride to Retire programme allows our regional officers to meet riders in person across Sarawak, share practical guidance on retirement planning and empower them to make informed decisions about their financial future. Even small savings can make a difference. Starting early and contributing consistently can help them build a secure retirement over the long term.”

Beyond financial planning, the programme also serves as a platform for engagement between foodpanda and its delivery partners. This includes networking, briefings and appreciation activities, particularly in locations where physical touchpoints have been limited. foodpanda aims to expand the programme to Sabah and more cities across East Malaysia in the near future.
