Created as a tribute to the Year of the Horse, the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse by CIGA Design embodies motion, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of progress — values deeply rooted in Eastern culture and long associated with the horse.
Rather than relying on symbolism alone, the timepiece expresses its meaning through movement itself. At the centre of the dial, two free-floating diamond pointers independently indicate the hour and minute. Liberated from conventional constraints, they glide fluidly across the dial, transforming time into a visual rhythm that feels dynamic, poetic, and expressive. When the pointers align, the moment represents convergence — a symbolic expression of opportunity, harmony, and auspicious timing.
Powering this display is a central tourbillon, positioned as both the visual and mechanical core of the watch. Constantly in motion, the tourbillon reinforces the philosophy that time is never static. Its uninterrupted rotation becomes a metaphor for momentum — a defining theme of the Year of the Horse, where progress is believed to be achieved through decisive action and discipline.
At six o’clock, a gold horse inlay is delicately carved into the dial. Rendered in a refined, minimalist silhouette, the motif carries layered cultural meaning: perseverance through effort, success earned through discipline, and prosperity achieved through forward motion.
