JAKARTA, INDONESIA, THURSDAY (01/AUGUST/2024) – KLAR Smile, Indonesia’s pioneering smile care provider backed by AC Ventures, has announced a recent milestone, achieving a 40% compounded monthly growth rate for its smile care line from April 2023 to March 2024. Revenue as of May 2024 was 10x higher compared to when the company received its last round of funding in May 2022. This growth underscores KLAR’s position as a leader in Indonesia’s burgeoning smile care market, poised to capitalize on the next big local trend in personal care.
In addition to its financial success, KLAR Smile is proud to announce the launch of its aligner treatment and new smile care product line, marking a new era in self-care. This expanded range includes two innovative aligner selections: KLAR Signature, made with premium, best-in-class material for patients seeking ultimate comfort, and KLAR Aligner, designed for value-conscious patients who still desire high-quality treatment. In addition, KLAR Smile will soon introduce KLAR Remineral, KLAR ColorPop Electric Toothbrush in vibrant colors, and KLAR Kids Electric Toothbrush, rounding out its innovative collection of at-home oral care solutions.
With Indonesia’s middle class on the rise, more consumers than ever before are prioritizing dental aesthetics, oral wellness, and cosmetic dentistry. Indonesia’s economy has been growing for the past 50 years, with the World Bank identifying 52 million “economically secure” Indonesians in 2020. The nation’s middle class is driving economic growth, with household consumption growing by 12% yearly between 2002 and 2020. Ken Research predicts the Indonesian dental services market will generate revenues worth US$4 billion by 2026, driven by rising dental consciousness throughout society, growing demand in the dental aesthetics industry, a changing tech landscape, and higher insurance coverage across the country.
KLAR Smile’s rapid growth and market leadership in Indonesia’s smile care sector
Founded in 2020 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, KLAR Smile began by offering tailor-made clear aligners to correct teeth misalignments without the need for conventional metal braces, resulting in a shorter treatment period overall. Trusted by over 1,000 dentists across 32 cities in Indonesia to date, KLAR has transformed more than 6,500 Indonesian smiles with a patient satisfaction rate of 92%.
Today, KLAR’s expansion strategy includes diversifying its product line to cater to different market segments. The company is introducing a more affordable line of clear aligners alongside its high-end products, aiming to make high-quality smile care solutions accessible to a wider audience and further solidify its market leadership.
KLAR Smile’s commitment extends beyond being just a brand; it’s a journey to enhance every Indonesian’s smile care experience.
KLAR Smile now offers a wide range of oral care products, including water flossers, sonic toothbrushes, whitening toothpaste, and its signature KLAR Oral Mouthwash. Other new products such as its Purple Teeth Whitening Booster, have already sold over 10,000 units on Shopee in the first quarter of 2024, as awareness builds around the importance of an at-home oral hygiene routine. Initially available only through official stores on platforms like Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok, and Lazada, KLAR Smilecare products are now accessible through dentists and top retailers like Boots and Watsons.
In 2023, KLAR Smile expanded its product offerings to address teeth discoloration, the second biggest dental concern among Indonesians. By launching a range of at-home oral care products focused on providing healthier, brighter, and whiter teeth, KLAR ensures dentist-approved formulations are tested for efficacy, comfort, and fun compared to traditional products.
Following a funding round co-led by AC Ventures in 2022, KLAR has shown notable traction and market penetration, solidifying its reputation as an industry innovator. This success is driven by KLAR’s commitment to R&D, product excellence, and customer satisfaction.

“Beyond skincare, Indonesian consumers are increasingly focusing on other aspects of beauty, including hair care, body care, and notably, smile care. We’ve observed significant traction in the oral care sector with innovative products, such as those from our portfolio company KLAR.
