TikTok Launches #JomSedekah Donation Stickers to Enable Creators and Communities to Give Back This Ramadan

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 14 March 2024 – In the spirit of helping others and doing good deeds, TikTok, the leading destination for short-form video, is encouraging Malaysians to share the joy with various communities through #JomSedekah donation stickers this Ramadan.

These donation stickers can be embedded by TikTok creators and users in their videos, LIVE broadcasts, and profile pages to encourage everyone to contribute and support non-profit organizations in Malaysia. Users can simply click on the sticker and make their preferred contribution with a minimum of US$2 (approximately RM10).

One hundred percent of user donations will be facilitated by a global charitable giving platform, Percent, to leading non-profit organizations in Malaysia, including The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), Muslim Volunteer Malaysia Association (MVM), Humanitarian Care Malaysia Berhad (MyCARE), All Women’s Action Society (AWAM), Yayasan Ikhlas and MyFundAction.

Creators Khairul Aming, Zarul Hafiz, and Wan Fatin Sufina are leading the community to support #JomSedekah on TikTok by posting a collaboration video guiding their followers on how to donate and encouraging them to make contributions to the organization of their choice.

“At TikTok, we believe that authentic expression builds connection and a strong sense of community that in turn brings positive impact. Enabling seamless donations through #JomSedekah donation stickers is a significant step towards amplifying social impact through TikTok. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with NASOM, MVM, MyCARE, Yayasan Ikhlas, AWAM and MyFundAction in an effort to promote a culture of generosity and empathy,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Head of Public Policy, TikTok Malaysia.

“Our collaboration with TikTok gives Malaysians a wider opportunity to provide a better life and a new hope for the affected communities in Malaysia especially in this holy month of Ramadan. The #JomSedekah campaign enables our charity work to be more impactful, simple and informative in accordance with the development of the digital age,” said Hasbullah Najib, Chief Operating Officer Muslim Volunteer Malaysia.
