MR D.I.Y. launches emotional festive webfilm, ‘Sama-Sama Melangkah’

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 March 2024 — Malaysians’ favourite home improvement retailer, MR D.I.Y. Group [M] Berhad [MR D.I.Y.] is touching hearts again with its newly launched Hari Raya Aidilfitri webfilm titled ‘Sama-Sama Melangkah’

The 4-minute film tells the story of a young man named Rahmat, who is struggling to provide for his family, as well as his mother, wife, and daughter Aisha. Due to his career relocation from the village to the city, Rahmat reluctantly sends his mother to a nursing home. Despite maintaining regular contact with her through phone calls, he deeply regrets his inability to personally care for her due to the limited time and space in their new location. An incident happens, leading to his daughter accusing him of neglecting her, which triggers memories of Rahmat’s past with his mother, causing him to feel remorse over his own neglect of her. He seeks her forgiveness, and the family then has a joyful and memorable Hari Raya.

The webfilm is part of MR D.I.Y’s ‘Raya Sama-Sama’ initiative this Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which also includes a “Raya Sama-Sama Bijak Berbelanja” promotion at selected stores nationwide, featuring 100+ unique festive decor items as well as discounts on a range of household essentials. The initiative runs from 1 March to 30 April 2024. 

As part of its Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, MR D.I.Y. has appointed popular Malaysian singer, actor, and TV host Alif Satar as the festive ambassador for a series of events. Customers and fans of Alif can join MR D.I.Y. at a ‘Meet & Greet’ on 21 March 2024 at MR D.I.Y. PLUS Mid Valley Megamall, followed by a ‘Buka Puasa’ event with lucky fans the same day.
