Hilton Bolsters its Presence in Japan with the Opening of Hilton Yokohama

Strategically situated along the vibrant waterfront of the Minato Mirai district, the 339-room Hilton Yokohama provides easy access to a wealth of attractions

SINGAPORE, 24 OCTOBER, 2023 –  Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the opening of Hilton Yokohama, located in Minato Mirai 21, a vibrant waterfront residential, commercial and entertainment destination in central Yokohama – Japan’s second largest city after Tokyo. The debut of Hilton Yokohama in this sought-after destination further solidifies Hilton’s presence in Japan.

Hilton Yokohama is a core part of the Minato Mirai 21 precinct, adjacent to Music Terrace, the world’s largest purpose-built music venue in the world. This waterfront complex features impressive facilities such as K-Arena Yokohama, an arena with a seating capacity of over 20,000; and state-of-the-art K-Tower Yokohama office building. Merging commercial, entertainment, and hospitality sectors, this integrated project reinforces Yokohama’s status as a dynamic urban centre.

“We are delighted to partner with Ken Corporation to bring our first Hilton hotel to Yokohama, as we mark our 60th anniversary in Japan since we introduced Hilton Tokyo in 1963,” said Timothy Soper, area vice president, head of Japan, Korea & Micronesia, Hilton. “Its strategic location provides not only a geographical advantage, but also offers a gateway to a diverse range of cultural experiences, seamlessly catering to both business and leisure travelers. I am confident that Hilton Yokohama will deliver exceptional service and offer memorable experiences for all our guests.”

Located just 20 kilometers away from Haneda airport, Hilton Yokohama can be easily accessed via a 30-minute train ride to Yokohama Station and an approximate 11-minute walk from the station’s East Exit. The hotel is also just five minutes from Shin-Takashima train station, providing easy access to the city’s attractions such as Japan’s largest Chinatown, famous for its cultural diversity and delicious food; the Yokohama Hammerhead complex, which offers more than 100 shops and restaurants; Landmark Tower, known for its impressive architecture and stunning views; and the historic city of Kamakura, boasting ancient temples and shrines. The hotel also serves as the perfect hub for exploring the larger Tokyo metropolitan region.

“At Hilton, we are committed to inspiring travel and unlocking the best of destinations. With the introduction of our flagship brand in Yokohama, a city known for its rich cultural diversity, we put our guests at the centre of it all. As we extend our signature hospitality offerings across Asia Pacific, we look forward to delivering memorable stays at Hilton Yokohama, empowering guests to embark on new, enriching experiences,” said Vincent Ong, vice president, Brand Management, Full Service, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

Hilton Yokohama’s design concept is anchored around a modern take on the classic Art Deco architectural style, incorporating elements of the city’s cultural heritage. Iconic Art Deco elements are also woven in throughout the hotel’s 339 guest rooms, which blend seamlessly into Yokohama’s night-time cityscape with elegant colour schemes.

Each room features large ceiling-to-floor windows that offer stunning views of the city, and offer full-sized Crabtree & Evelyn bath amenities. Moreover, guests staying in suites and executive rooms can enjoy access to the hotel’s executive lounge which offers exclusive check-in, personalised service during breakfast and cocktail hours, and a relaxing library area with scenic views.

The hotel features three dining options that cater to various guest preferences:

  • At the centre of the hotel lies Melody, a bar and lounge that boasts a stunning seven-metre-high bottle showcase tower as its centrepiece. On weekday evenings, guests can enjoy locally inspired cocktails while soaking in live piano performances. From January 2024, guests can enjoy afternoon tea and beverages during the day.
  • At Ocean Milano, guests can indulge in premium beef, fresh seafood and fine-dining courses surrounded by beautiful views. The chef’s seafood and roast beef perfectly complement the extensive selection of over 100 wines. An 8-seater private room is available for more intimate occasions.
  • Parade, the all-day dining restaurant, embraces an Art Deco Yokohama Garden theme. The breakfast menu features more than 150 dishes, and live cooking stations showcase freshly baked paninis, French toast, and Hawaiian pancakes with delightful tropical toppings. Lunch and dinner menus carry an array of local and international flavours as well as seasonal specialties, while the dessert buffet offers a sumptuous spread of sweet treats and savoury delights. For those craving local flavours, guests can savour teppanyaki-style Japanese beef from the live kitchen and a variety of tempura and nigiri sushi.

For meetings and events, the hotel offers four banquet halls and meeting rooms. Alongside these venues, a spacious 330-square-metre foyer provides a versatile space for various functions. With a total area of 672 square metres, the entire floor can be reserved for MICE events.
